About the haunted house:
The farmhouse was built in 1901. It is the typical two-story farmhouse with a Michigan basement. The area that the house resides was settled in 1837 and there was a good population of Indians that lived in the area.
It wasn’t until around 1993 that the residence started to think that the place was haunted. It was later determined that there was actually three ghost in residence. It took the introduction of a new ghost in 1985 to make the old farmhouse display paranormal activity.
Who are the ghosts? This can be the most difficult part of ghost hunting, establishing the identity of the ghost(s). The dominant ghost Randy N. was killed on Saturday November 23, 1985 around 7 pm in a car accident. The vehicle came to rest in front of the farmhouse just a few yards from the house were it hit a tree. No one was home at the time and it took a few hours before the deceased Randy’s body was found.
Randy was a long time resident of the general area. His body is buried a few miles from where he now resides. One of the first questions he asked me was whose house he was in. He was born in the area July 16 1955. He was survived by four brothers, two sisters, his wife, and two children. I chose at this time not to reveal his full identity, because his family still lives in the area and I don’t wish to create any undo stress on said family at this point in the investigation.
I have worked with Randy for a while and have established a friendship with him. I have spent a lot of time researching him and explaining his circumstances to him. He still thinks it is 1985 until explained it to him otherwise.
Ghost 2:
This ghost is a little boy (Kevin) between 6 and 8 years old. (I had queried the ghost Randy about the identity of the boy. He told me: “The ghost answers to Kevin”.) He is afraid of adults. He usually waits until I’m somewhere in the house other than his location then he makes a mad dash for the lower floors and out the back door. It sounds like just what you would expect to hear when a 7- years- old rushes down the stairway and opens and slams doors on his way out. Kevin is not a prisoner of the house since he died on the property long before the home was built in 1901. When the residence grandchildren would have a sleep over, this ghost Kevin would enter their dreams and asked them to play with him. I have heard him on an EVP briefly in the background. Randy has also talked with him while I was picking it up on the EVP, usually giving the boy instructions (father like). I believe Randy has adopted him as a son even though he did in one EVP say, “he was some people’s rug rat”. I haven’t found any historical reference to Kevin yet. It appears he comes from the late 1800’s. I will keep researching to find his full identity. I haven’t been able to talk with him as of late because Randy is protective and he keeps Kevin from me. There were times when I almost got Kevin to come forward and interact with me but Randy would stop him.
Ghost 3:
This ghost is an older woman. The belief is that Kevin is related to her. I have never picked up any EVP’s from her nor interacted. There was a photo taken in the attic that showed a shadowy figure of an older woman in Victorian dress. When asked, Randy did say that there was an older woman there. He said he heard her say on numerous occasions, “I’ve heard her speak about being cold”, said Randy. At a later date, Randy finally identified the women ghost. He told me that she was the first ghost there. Her name is Madison. I believe this is her first name.
